Inside The Workshop

Crafted with intention. Built for permanence.

Every piece begins with structure. Beneath the surface, each Gambrell Rénard furniture design is engineered with precision hardwood framing and elevated materials selected for longevity, strength, and character.

This is where durability becomes design.

  • Each frame is constructed using 5/4” (1-1/4”) thick select hardwood Maple, kiln-dried and finish surfaced to 1-1/8” thickness for optimal stability and precision.

Maple is chosen for its balance of strength, durability, and refined structural integrity, making it a preferred hardwood in high-end furniture construction.

Every joint is reinforced using double dowel construction, ensuring alignment, longevity, and structural resilience over time.

    Kiln-dried hardwood for stability.

    Precision double dowel joinery.

    Finish surfaced for dimensional accuracy.

  • All corner blocks are mechanically fastened into the frame using screws, not staples or adhesive-based shortcuts.

This method ensures long-term rigidity and prevents structural fatigue over time; preserving both shape and performance through years of use.

Engineered to remain stable under daily use, seasonal change, and long-term load stress.

  • Full-grain leather is the highest quality leather available—valued for its durability, character, and natural beauty.

It is crafted from the entire hide, preserving the original grain layer where the fibers are tightest and strongest. This layer is naturally resistant to moisture and wear, while maintaining the organic markings that make each piece unique.

Unlike corrected or split leathers, full-grain leather is left unaltered—allowing it to age gracefully over time and develop a rich patina unique to its environment and use.

    • Entire hide preserved for maximum strength

    • Natural grain retained for authenticity

    • Develops patina over time

    • Designed for lifelong use

Imperfection is not removed—it is refined.

  • At Gambrell Rénard, construction is not an afterthought, it is the foundation of design.

Every material is chosen not only for its appearance, but for how it performs, ages, and lives with you over time. This is furniture designed to evolve, not deteriorate.

Crafted with discipline. Designed with permanence.
